Peachtree 2000

I do not have much experience with Peachtree 2000, nor do I see it discussed
here much.  I have a client who is interested in using it for their
business.  They would need service, retail and wholesale capabilities, as
well as maintain an extensive inventory of parts.
Will this program handle it?  Also, what are the differences between 2000
and say version 6 (or 7)?

Thanks—Debbie

Peachtree 2000 from Star Network Accounting

I have a client who wants to go from Star Network Accounting to Peachtree
2000.  They would like to take their inventory directly across rather then
punch it in.  Is there a program to do this??
Thanks
Debbie

Peachtree Font Problem

My computer was recently upgraded from Win95 to
Win98.  I have NOT reinstalled Peachtree (6.0)
because everything seemed okay.  I am, however,
having a problem with checks printing in a really
tiny font.  It’s so small I worry about the post
office not getting it to its destination.  I can’t
find any font settings in Peachtree or Win98 to
correct this problem.  The default fonts for my
word processing and other programs remained
unchanged.  FYI – I’m still using up a supply of
two-part checks and use a Panasonic KXP-1124
dot-matrix printer.  I haven’t tried printing any
reports or other things from Peachtree, just
checks.

Copying data between Win95 & Win98?

I plan to do some work at home so I purchased a zip drive for home and the
office to transfer the data files from my home computer (running Win95) to the
office computer (running Win98).

I found it really interesting that when I contacted Peachtree through the tech
support line that they told me that there would not be a problem with copying
files between those two different operating systems.  I had sent an e-mail to
customer care (sales support) a few days before talking to tech help on the
phone and they just replied via email saying that there WOULD be problems in
trying to transfer data between those two operating systems.  Now I don’t know
which Peachtree representative to believe and I don’t want to risk losing data
that I have worked on entering for the company.

Can anyone give some "experienced" advice on this one?

Invoice form

Hi..
I have a problem..
I’m using peachwin on the network..
I have 4 computers which is connected server.
I installed peachwin program on each client computer and I open company file
from the server directory F:\peach.
I designed the Invoice, quote report form. It’s not easy work.
I want to use those forms from other computers. Then, do I have to creat a
report again on each computers?
I couldn’t find the way to import that I designed forms.
If I have to creat those forms on each computers, I don’t use again it.

Peachtree 2000, Peachtree Complete, or….

For ten years I have used Accpac BPI to run the books for a private
elementary which now has about 200 customers (students) and revenue of about
$1,000,000/year.  It has one great strength for me; namely, its ability to
do revolving billing.  This allows me to bill percentages of a (possibly)
changing tuition balance, forcing 100% payment at academic year end.

I now must set up a building fund and an endowment.  BPI is not suited at
all for even simple fund accounting.

The websites I’ve skimmed indicate that Peachtree 2000 would be a good
solution for me; however, it is very expensive by my standards and other
features might be overkill.  On the other hand, I don’t think Peachtree
Complete addresses my situation at all.

Any ideas or suggestions?

Net pay-payroll calculation error

I am having trouble with direct deposit payroll checks not calculating correctly.

I recently added a new deduction category for dental insurance for our employees for whom we have a cafeteria plan, so we include the eligible insurance deductions in calculating Adjusted Gross Income.  Direct deposit is calculated like a tax deduction with its own calculation (adjusted gross+FIT+group_insurance+dental…) and results in a $0.00 check with a deduction in the amount of the net pay to a cash clearing account.

Everything worked fine until I added this deduction for dental insurance and now the dental deduction is deducted twice, resulting in a negative cash check in the amount of the dental deduction. Normal cash payroll checks are calculating just fine.

I have checked the Direct_Deposit tax formula several times and it appears to be correct.   Has anyone encountered a similar problem?

OWPW 7.0 G/L Out of Balance

I have a client using One-Write Plus for Windows version 7 who has an
out-of-balance general ledger.

There was a way to make a one-sided journal entry in the DOS versions of
OWP, but I don’t know if it’s possible to do this in the Windows
version. If it is, I haven’t found it.

Any suggestions on how to fix this problem?

Beginning balance GL entries

I am just installing PAW Version 6. I designed some forms and needed to try
so I posted some dummy invoices and sales order to print out (afterwards
erased them). I now am ready to enter beginning balances in GL but because I
have posted those "dummy" invoices Peachtree assumes I want to post to
previous year, NOT BEGINNING BALANCES. Is there a way to fool Peachtree and
get to beginning balances for GL? or another way to enter GL beginning
balances?

Thank you for your help
