I have a situation where whenever I sell a particular stock item, I want
to simultaneously record a liability to a third party (basically a
royalty payment).  Is there a way to make Peachtree automatically create
this liability (debit Royalty Cost, credit Royalties Payable) whenever I
sell the product subject to the royalty? Or do I just have to add up my
total month-end unit sales, multiply it by the royalty rate, and create
a Purchase invoice?  Hopefully there is a way to handle this at the same
time the sales invoice is created.

Can’t figure this one out.  We’ve upgraded an office from PT 6
to PT 7 – Win95, Lantastic 7 network, one system is PT server
and 4 other systems connect as clients.  Everything worked
prior to upgrade, and upgrade went smoothly except one station
that gets a status.dat read error, followed by a "contact
Peachtree tech support" message.  Tried reinstalling but same
error occurred.  The workstation in question was the 3rd system
upgraded, and this was using the Upgrade version 7 direct from
Peachtree with the unlimited multi-user license.

Any ideas?  Should I just wipe everything out and start again?

We’re also having problems when we go to print Payroll checks –
it craps out with an error (I can’t recall the exact words at this
time) before it gets to the window where you choose the check form.
Could there be some incompatibility with forms that were modified
by V6?  It works for the other modified forms and reports that I
tried.

p.s. this was the second site that I upgraded to v7.  The other
(6 users, Win98 networking) went perfectly well – thus far.

I am using PAW 6 and would like to know how to get it to autofill.  That is,
I have entered some past entries and would like it to automatically complete
the remainder of my entry based on past matches.

I would also like to have it show a running (line by line) balance in an
account.

I am using release 7.0, and wonder if it is possible to use the inventory
module without
it being tied to the G/L. I already enter my COGS in  purchases. I do not
have
the time to enter every line of invoices so I simply enter the amount in
purchases.
Now as I am setting up inventory items,(cost, selling prices for each item)
Peachtree is adjusting my Inventory and COGS account on its own. How can I
instruct P.Tree no to do this. Any help would be appreciated.

I have just completed exporting a company from/to Peachtree. Everything is OK,
except my Sales Journal Report.  The new Co. does not reflect to cost of sales
like the old Co.  Does anyone know if this is a problem and how I can fix it?

My client has PAW+T&B 6.0 and recently bought new computers.  7" checks
that printed fine on Win 95, can no longer print on Win 98.  We tried
creating new forms based on 7" template, but PAW error message reads
"cannot locate PANSON 24 driver".  We reloaded the driver and even
tried a few Epson drivers (that work on Win 95) but the Custom Size
Option is greyed out on the design form window.  We cannot get PAW to
recognize a dot matrix driver.  Any ideas.

We have recently upgraded to Peachtree Complete v7. From Invoices we can no
longer print 2 copies, even though when we go to the form in Records, click
on "Design" and then the "Format" tab it says "2".
Interestingly enough, if we select the form in "Records" and then click on
print, 2 copies will be printed but the graphic is in the wrong place and is
a different size than the one printed on the form produced as above.
The DOS file numbers are the same.

I am using Peachtree Complete 6.0 on a small Win95 peer-to-peer network. I
am using the simple backup for small companies. I backup to a zip disk, take
the data home, restore it to my home computer, add data on the weekends,
backup to the zip drive at home, then restore the data to the "server"
machine at my office. When I go to restore the data, after I click ok to the
dangerous operation warning, the files begin to be restored. Then I get a
message saying that I cannot perform this operation while more than one user
is logged on to Peachtree. There are no other users logged on to Peachtree
when I get this message.

What is causing this problem, and how do I fix it?
