We key in part of the account name and the lookup window closes but does not
find the account or tell us that the account was not found. Even tried to
find an account that we could see in the window behind the lookup window and
there was no response after we cliked ok.
Is there a setting or a workaround that we need to now about?

Account
2) The Tax Service Reminder will no longer appear every time you access
payroll entry
3) The Tax Liability report will show the correct taxable gross for FUTA and

What type of Business should I pick
I have the Peachtree Accounting one. I was wondering what type of business I
should pick for a Desktop publishing business?
Account 1020in GL doesn't foot in period 1.
I am trying to access the General Ledger report in the General Ledger
section of the "Select a report" window. When that report comes up I get
an error message that states "Account 1020 in General Ledger doesn’t foot in
period 1, select help for more info. (Help as usual suggests that you spend
your entire years earnings calling Peachtree support for long hold times and
worthless answers!) It also says to try the integrety check, and I have.
I have tried the integrety check one option at a time, but I still have
account 1020 left with the error message. I did have more accounts that
came up with the same message, but the integrety check has corrected those.
I am working in Version 7.0.03.098 on windows 2000.
Help also states that this problem is because of an imbalance in the General
Ledger. How can this be in a double entry accounting system?
I have a lot of computer experience and a degree in accounting, but this one
has stumped me.
Thanks in advance,

Peachtree 2000 & Printing
When I try to print, I get a print error the moment I submit the job. It
looks as if PT2K can’t assemble the print job. If I print to screen or to
file, it works OK. I tried using a local printer (HP 4050) instead of the
network HP8100 and got the same results. It’s as if PT2K just cannot use
the Windows print driver. Anyone got any idea what’s wrong?
Thanks!
commission income – insurance brokerage
I am trying to set up an insurance brokerage (mine) with Peachtree
Accountin v. 8 software.
We obtain income in 2 ways.
1. commissions and brokerage fees taken out of checks given to us by
clients before we forward to the carrier to pay premiums.
2. commission income checks issued to us by the insurance carrier upon
their receipt of policy premiums.
I have no great difficulty with item (1). However, entering the
commission income checks issued by the carriers is proving to be a
little beyond my knowledge. They are not a client, nor are we selling
them a service; quite properly, they need to be termed "vendors".
However, the way Peachtree’s support documents tell me to handle this
is with "negative invoicing". I’ve worked this system out; however it
plays havoc on my General Ledger accounts because all of a sudden my
income is showing up in my "expenses" column as a negative entry!
How do I enter income from vendors?
Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

Version 8 patch does not find Version 8 files…
I am running Version 8 of Peachtree.
Just downloaded the patch file and ran it from the peachw directory. The
error message said it could not find any Peachtree products on this computer
and previous files from this version need to be installed.
Any suggestions?
We are doing a peachtree 2000 version 5 conversion to SBT and are trying to export records from the inventory
We are helping a client who has peachtree 2000 versiion 5 that has a
corrupted invnetory file. The problem is that the btrieve files are
damaged as are all of the backups. The inventory file can scroll
through up to a point and then we get a error . In rebuilding the
files the IC rebuild also shows an error. Is there any hope of
getting the data out.
I know nothing abotu btrieve – is there a utility to force a rebuild
that can recover data?
Re: Please read this. It's very important.
No, its not.
