need help with tax table

When I do my payroll, PT comes up with an error message "Can’t fine CO*SIT
married Calculation". I checked the tax tables (global), and it is
definitely there for tax year 02. I checked everything in PT suggests in the
PDF document about this error, but I can’t resolve it. How do I get this
going?

I forgot to say, that all other calculations (Medicare, SS, Federal, etc.)
are done OK. Only the COSIT 02 calculation fails.

    Hi Mike:

Try going to Maintain->Employee and choose an employee
record.  Click on the EmployEE Fields tab and uncheck the
box in the Std column for the State  income tax row.  Click
in the Tax Name field and scroll to the COSIT name.  Save
the employee record and try writing a paycheck for that
    employee.

I tried that. Peachtree does not complain any longer about not being able to
find the calculation, but unfortunately the state income tax shows as zero
on the check. Although I’d like that, it probably is not correct.

If I uncheck "Std" and select "COSIT", where does Peachtree find the
    calculation?

    Thanks for your help.

This is most likely not the problem, but I thought I would ask.  Is there an
entry with a code ID of COSIT M2?  I ask this because you said COSIT 02 in the
message below.  COSIT M2 is the code ID and COSIT 02 is the description.  You
probably already knew that, but it was worth a shot.

You might try deleting the current COSIT M2 entry and creating it again.  Does
    the single calculation work OK.

    Thanks for checking:

There are the following entries in the global payroll tax table (among many
    others):

    Tax ID            Tax Name
    COSIT M2    COSIT 02
    COSIT S2     COSIT 02

One for married, the other for single.

I just tried to change the "filing status" on the "maintain employee" dialog
to "Single" for "state". Funny thing is: I still get an error message for
the CO*SIT Married calculation. That does not sound right, does it?

Tried to delete and add the tax calculations. No difference.

I also tried to change the state to ID. Then the software complained that it
could not find the ID*SIT married calculation.

I believe that you have to have the right tables in the COMPANY tax tables,
    not just global.

Go to your calculation, in the GOVERNMENT section, make sure STATE is
selected and the field next to it is blank.
